Answering the Calling

How it all started...

As we ventured into a time where a pandemic was declared, we were determined to continue having real conversations about real struggles, real hurdles and real scriptural promises.  We started by recording conversations and posting them in an effort to stay connected.  Those conversations sparked many messages received by viewers.  Some were prayer concerns.  Some were praise reports.  Some were "thank you" messages because it was a topic they needed to hear at that moment in their life.  We know it was all about God working through us to reach those searching for clarity and discernment.  We want to continue to grow this platform, talk with you, pray with you, and do life with you because we know we were not created to do life alone!

Expanding the vision...

With the launch of the first "podcast site", it was a way of being obedient to the calling God had placed on my heart.  This did not allow for outreach and the connection with others was very limited.  After praying for God to show me what I was missing, lacking, or how to dive deeper into being obedient, I knew it was time to relaunch through different avenues.  I pray this journey will bring many ministry opportunities as a platform for the recovery community to continue encouraging each other.

If we are being honest, we are all needing recovery from something.
Most think recovery involves addiction to drugs or alcohol.  Truly, anything that is done in gluttony can and will become an addiction.  You are probably thinking that you do not have an addiction so let me list a few things that can become an addiction.  An addiction is something as simple as over eating, under eating, over working, under working, over exercising, under exercising, gambling, shopping, video games, internet, mobile devices, seeking pain due to low self-worth, toxic relationships, risky encounters with strangers, abusive relationships, co-dependency, grief and many others such as these listed.  The truth is that we have all experienced something that changed our perspective on life.  As a result of our sinful flesh and compulsive behaviors, we all need Jesus which means we all need recovery.  If you do not need recovery, why are you seeking a change?  Jesus brings the change that heals our today of the wounds from our yesterday's and changes how we will walk in all of our tomorrow's!

Where we are headed...

Hopefully, we will be adding a link to future devotional books are they are completed.  We are looking forward to producing merchandise to share with others.  We are looking to connect with you and help share your testimony.  We know that we are not in the driver's seat but we are in the passenger seat with our seatbelt on and ready for the adventure of a lifetime as Jesus takes the wheel and leads us to where we need to go!  To be honest, we do not know where God is going to take us from here.  All I can say is that I am excited for the journey!

Usually my ducks are never in a row.  To be honest, it is rare that my ducks are even in the same pond.  But... Somehow I managed to jump over the "pond".  Truly blessed by this review from AlcoholFree.com and sharing The Recovery Pastor on their site!
